Clariden Global will be hosting an international summit on modular construction and prefabrication in Sydney and Melbourne in February/March next year.
The summit will cover topics such as on international best practices in modular construction and prefabrication, building fire protection measures, latest innovations in design for manufacture and assembly (DfMA), customer lifecycle management (CLM), kitchen and bathroom pods, and other building components.
Clariden Global is seeking input on areas of potential audience interest for the conference.
Suggested topics to date have been: new and urgent issues and areas of interest or concerns; current and new challenges, regulatory and material/expertise supply availability issues; sectors in the building and construction industry that might benefit from and adopt modular and prefabrication construction more readily; overseas examples or case studies; and hot issues.
Prefabrication is becoming increasingly important in the HVAC&R industry, particularly for demanding installations.
For the award-winning International Towers Sydney project, A.G. Coombs applied its prefabricated services riser methodology to develop a suitable solution for Towers One and Two.
Ductwork, pipework, fire-rated walls, services platforms and other building services features were pre-installed into engineered three-storey frames – believed to be a first for a high-rise building project in Australia.
All prefabrication work was carried out offsite in a dedicated factory, with each riser also pressure tested such that each section could be delivered to site and lifted into place – often within an hour of delivery.
It’s thought the prefabrication strategy meant that more than 8,000 hours of complicated and high-rise site installation work was transferred into a controlled factory environment.
