The Materials & Embodied Carbon Leaders’ Alliance (MECLA) has announced an informational webinar on changes to NSW’s decarbonisation policy. MECLA will hold the webinar on Monday, 7 April 2025, from 2–3pm AEDT.

The webinar will provide information about the NSW Decarbonising Infrastructure Delivery Policy and accompanying Embodied Carbon Measurement in Infrastructure: Technical Guidance, which were released in April 2024 and will come into effect in April 2025. The policy sets expectations for NSW government delivery agencies for managing upfront and embodied carbon on public infrastructure projects.

The MECLA webinar will provide a recap on the policy and the measurement guidance, along with a more detailed overview of a toolkit of resources that Infrastructure NSW is releasing to help agencies and project teams apply the policy.

The toolkit consists of fact sheets, templates, worked examples and case studies designed to promote decarbonisation capability within industry. MECLA says the resources were informed by a decarbonisation capability survey undertaken in 2024, which was a collaborative effort with the MECLA Readiness Working Group.

The webinar will also provide an overview of key findings and insights, along with some next steps on readiness and capability uplift for Infrastructure NSW and MECLA.

You can register for the webinar via the MECLA website.
