Industry workshop to explore low-carbon construction

The Decarbonising the Building Industry (DBI) initiative has announced the second event in its Flinders University series in Adelaide.

The inaugural event last year looked at decarbonising concrete. This year’s theme is Low-Carbon Construction: Pathways to a Sustainable Future.

“We’d be delighted to have you join us for a day of insightful presentations, engaging discussions, and valuable networking opportunities,” say the organisers.

The event aims to foster collaboration across industry, government, academia, and the community to accelerate progress toward net-zero targets in South Australia and beyond. With a focus on the building and construction sector, workshop participants will explore innovative approaches and practical solutions – particularly the enablers of green infrastructure such as waste-to-resources.

This year’s event will also incorporate an international perspective into the conversation, with insights from Yonsei University in South Korea. This contribution will shed light on how advanced technologies and policy frameworks in South Korea are driving low-carbon innovation in construction – offering valuable lessons and opportunities for collaboration.

Attendees will hear from other experts and thought leaders, including speakers from John Holland, Hallett Group and Quattro Project Engineering.
