The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) has extended its call for abstracts for the HFO 2023 conference, to be held April 4–6, 2023. The conference will be hosted by the Chinese Association of Refrigeration (CAR) in Shanghai and will be the third iteration of the event.

The conference aims to bring together international experts to exchange ideas and discuss the most recent developments in the field.

According to IIR, HFO 2023 will offer an opportunity for those developing new working fluids to meet with the equipment design engineers who provide products, and the system installers who use them, as well as with representatives of the end-user community who must live with the consequences of these scientific and technical decisions.

IIR is seeking abstract submissions on topics – from fundamental sciences to applied technologies – including:

  • Characteristics of HFOs and low-GWP blends
  • Design issues for systems, components and controls
  • Safety issues
  • Legislation, codes of practice and standards
  • Responsible use and environmental considerations.

Abstracts must be submitted by September 30, 2022, via the HFO 2023 website.

The IIR will also host its biennial Cryogenics 2023 conference in Dresden, Germany, on April 24–28, 2023. The conference attracts international experts to debate and discuss themes including cryology, gas processing, cryobiology, and cryomedicine.

The call for abstract submissions on the topic of cryogenics is now closed.
