AIRAH Awards 2023: RS-5605 declared top product

Construction Specialties Australia has taken out the Product of the Year award at the AIRAH Awards 2023, for its RS-5605 performance louvre system.

Open to all individuals, companies, corporate bodies, institutions and government authorities, this award recognises excellence in product manufacture within the HVAC&R industry. Products are assessed for features such as innovation, energy efficiency, sustainability, originality and industry need. Eligible products must have been developed, designed and manufactured in Australia.

The RS-5605 is a 131mm deep, vertically bladed aluminium performance louvre system that is designed to protect buildings against wind-driven rain. In fact, it features Class-A effectiveness against wind-driven rain. The RS-5605 is tested in accordance with AS/NZS 4740:2000 (2016), above the Australian Standard.

It also has Air Movement and Control Association Certification (AMCA), which is internationally recognised, and is also certified to be up to 99 per cent effective under AMCA’s wind-driven rain test. The system is designed to be sight-proof, with hidden mullion options available for continuous line appearance without compromising water performance. The louvres are manufactured from aluminium, which can be recyclable at the end of life and can be sourced from sustainable suppliers.
