A range of speakers covering matters critical to building performance has been named for the Building Physics Forum 2021. Originally scheduled to take place in Brisbane, the Forum will now be held as a live-streamed virtual event on Tuesday, October 12.

As an applied science, building physics addresses air movement, thermal performance, control of moisture, sensible and latent energy, acoustic performance, light, solar control, climate, and biology.

The first round of presentations for Building Physics Forum 2021 includes:

  • Demystifying slab-on-ground heat transfer and insulation thermal performance
  • Passive House standard for cross-laminated timber (CLT) nearly-zero-energy-buildings (NZEB) in tropical climates
  • Greenhouse gas emissions versus building physics
  • How dirty climate data grows mould
  • Ventilation methods to achieve a suitable airflow rate in Australian and New Zealand residential buildings
  • NCC 2022 panel session.
