The Energy Efficiency Council (EEC) is holding its annual conference in Sydney on Wednesday and Thursday May 15–16.
The conference will bring together Australia’s experts, policymakers, political leaders, and innovative energy users to debate and create action around reducing energy bills and cutting emissions through smarter energy use. The conference will focus on the crucial role of the demand side in the energy transition – how energy management interacts with renewable energy, storage, networks, electrification, and decarbonisation.
Key topics include:
- The role of energy management in electrifying Australia
- The changing role of energy management
- The commercial models needed to retrofit 8 million homes
- Financing energy efficiency and electrification.
The first Industrial Decarbonisation Summit will also take place at the same venue the day prior to the conference, with a focus on examining industrial decarbonisation from all angles.
Co-founder of the Rocky Mountain Institute, Amory Lovins, will be headlining at both events. Lovins has been involved in the industry for almost 50 years and his ideas on energy security, efficiency, and renewables have changed global policy.
The conference program features Australian and international keynote speakers, panel discussions and workshops.
