Air and Odour Management (AOM) Australia has released a new means of treating commercial kitchen odours to ensure NCC performance requirements for ventilation systems – AOM Plasma Air filtration.
The filtration couples a dense activated carbon mosaic together with high-voltage cold plasma production. According to AOM, the high-tech activated carbon filter captures odours, VOCs, bacteria and viruses, while the reactive cold plasma in turn breaks down the compounds. This frees the activated carbon pores, and the filter operates with next to no maintenance requirements, says the company.
“This process has been tested to high efficiency odour removal for kitchen exhaust systems and can be applied in any odour management situation from indoor air quality to contaminated air discharges,” says AOM. “A PlasmaCore indoor air purifier is under development and has already been tested and certified to remove over 99.99 per cent of COVID-19 from the air in laboratory conditions.”
The filters are available in a large range of shapes and sizes to retrofit into existing situations, while AOM Australia has developed the HCP Series kitchen exhaust hood that integrates plasma filtration into commercial and residential kitchen exhaust hoods.
It can be paired with the AOM range Scrubbox ESP units, to further treat commercial kitchen exhaust discharges to NCC performance requirements.
