IAQ Ventilation has developed a self-assessment tool to rate the indoor air quality (IAQ) measures in place for a building – known as the Healthy Buildings Scorecard.

The tool allows users to see where IAQ measures are succeeding and where improvements can be made.

IAQ says its benchmark ratings – including Exceptional, Superior, Excellent and Commendable – enable users to demonstrate best practice and communicate to staff and visitors a focus on creating a safe, healthy and enjoyable environment.

According to IAQ, the tool is based on its eight-stage Life Cycle of Air process.

“We developed an evidence-based framework for measuring, monitoring and verifying the building features that impact indoor air quality through eight key areas,” says the company.

The eight areas include defining the IAQ goals for a building, measuring and monitoring real-time IAQ, then addressing ventilation, humidity control, HVAC operation, HVAC hygiene, filtration, and air purification and cleaning.
