Louvreclad launches Aerion Series vertical performance louvre

Australian company Louvreclad has released its independently tested Aerion Series vertical performance louvre, which is a finalist in the 2025 AIRAH National Awards.

Louvreclad has unveiled its Aerion Series vertical louvre system, which the company says was engineered in collaboration with Formula 1 aerodynamic specialists and sets a new global standard in aerodynamic and weather performance for architectural façades.

Constructed from lightweight, low-carbon extruded aluminium, the Australian engineered and tested system has been certified to achieve maximum ventilation efficiency and 99–100% rain defence.

The product’s performance has been validated through third-party testing at a trusted Australian test facility, where the rig/tests/data/certifications have been quality assured and scrutinised by chartered professional engineers.

The results confirm that the Aerion Series complies with and exceeds the requirements of the new Australian Standard 4740:2025, which marks the latest global benchmark for wind-driven rain resistance and louvre ventilation performance. According to Louvreclad, this rigorous testing process confirms the Aerion Series as the world’s highest-performing vertical louvre.

“The Aerion Series represents a major step forward in cooling technology,” says Louvreclad Design Consultant Uddhava Sharplin. “By applying advanced aerodynamic principles verified through independent Australian testing, we’re enabling the next generation of energy-efficient, climate-resilient buildings.”

Features

Louvreclad says the aerodynamic design and sustainability-led materials of the Aerion Series allow projects to achieve:

  • Verified class A 99–100% rain resistance up to 5m/s core velocity at a higher rainfall rate of 203L/h.m2
  • Optimised class 1 airflow performance through aerodynamic blade geometry
  • Reduced HVAC loads and improved building energy efficiency
  • Proven compliance with AS 4740:2025, backed by independent testing data.

Louvreclad says that, with a 150mm blade depth, 30mm pitch, and minimal framing requirements, the new product offers zero-vision screening, durability, and a clean linear aesthetic.

The Aerion Series is manufactured from 6063-T5 extruded aluminium and available in very low-carbon material options. It is non-combustible (AS1530.1- and AS1530.3-compliant) and backed by a 15–30-year coating warranty, as well as Louvreclad’s own guarantee.

Award recognition

Louvreclad’s Aerion Series is a finalist in the Excellence in Innovation category at the 2025 AIRAH National Awards, which will take place in Sydney on Thursday, November 20.

Earlier this year, the product won the Innovation Award at Zak World of Façades (ANZ) 2025.
