Inova has announced the Australian release of Lepido, a system that recovers energy from restaurant and kitchen ventilation.

According to Inova, the system recovers energy from waste kitchen exhaust air, and generates both heating and cooling outputs in order to lower buildings’ energy consumption and reduce CO2 emissions.

“Lepido is a unique energy recovery system, revolutionising industry by enabling profitable energy recovery from restaurant and kitchen ventilation,” says Inova.

Manufactured by Swedish technology company Enjay, the patented system purportedly features technology that enables the heat exchanger to survive in harsh kitchen environments requiring little ongoing maintenance. Lepido is available in multiple sizes with flows ranging from 800 – 5,000L per second of exhaust air.

Applications include restaurants, clubs, health and aged-care facilities, shopping centre food courts, and maritime vessels.

Inova is looking for suitable pilot programs to demonstrate the value of the system in the Australian environment, and welcomes enquiries from industry professionals.
