Carel releases A3-ready residential heat pump components

Carel has announced the launch of two new A3-ready heat pump components targeting the residential market.

According to Carel, the A3-ready products are built to high safety standards, reducing the risk of ignition in the event of contact with flammable refrigerants such as propane (R-290), which are increasingly used in the sector.

The E2V-K hermetic expansion valve for high temperatures is designed to handle fluid temperatures up to 100°C. The valve is UL certified and complies with ATEX regulations, allowing it to operate safely and reliably with heat pumps using natural refrigerants. It also available in several sizes to cover a wide range of heating capacities.

The three-phase inverter with active PFC includes integrated filtering stage and power factor control, ensuring compliance with emission regulations, high efficiency, and reduced energy consumption. Management of variable speed compressors has been optimised compared to traditional drives, consequently extending the operating limits of the envelope. The product’s A3-ready certification also means it can be used with natural refrigerants.

Carel has not yet announced if or when the products will be released to the Australian market.
