Automatic Heating celebrates 100 years in business
This year, Automatic Heating has notched a century not out, despite world events, economic crises and seismic shifts in markets, technology and regulations.

“This journey represents more than longevity,” says Automatic Heating Director Terry Plaisted.
“It speaks to adaptability, engineering depth, and unwavering commitment to quality. For a century, our systems have been designed, installed, tested, and proven in real-world commercial applications.”
Established in 1926, through four generations of family management, the business has navigated five major fuel transitions – from briquettes and coal through diesel burners and natural gas, to the emerging shift of electrification.
The company’s solutions have been used in projects for healthcare, hospitality, multi-residential, aged care, and industrial sectors, with landmark projects including major hospital redevelopments, Australia’s first carbon-neutral residential precinct, and critical infrastructure across Victoria and New South Wales.
The company will be showcasing its latest Revere heat pump additions and unveiling new IoT platforms at ARBS 2026 in Melbourne this May.
The Revere air-to-water heat pump systems use natural CO2 as a refrigerant. Available in a range of sizes for both indoor and outdoor installations, they are approved for Victorian and New South Wales government electrification and energy efficiency incentive schemes.
“We’re ready for the next century,” Plaisted adds.
