Anthony Boyd appointed GBCA chair

The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) has announced a leadership transition, appointing Anthony Boyd as incoming chair.

The Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) has announced a change in Board leadership, with Anthony Boyd appointed as incoming chair following the July board meeting.

Boyd, former CEO of Frasers Property Australia and a long-serving GBCA board director, will succeed Adrian Pozzo, who is stepping down after three years in the role.

GBCA CEO Davina Rooney has acknowledged Mr Pozzo’s contributions to the organisation.

“Adrian has been a dedicated chair, guiding the board during a time of significant development; his experience, steady leadership, and commitment to sustainability have played a key role in shaping the organisation’s direction. We sincerely thank him for his service.”

“We also welcome Anthony Boyd to the role. He brings extensive experience and a strong interest in improving outcomes for both people and the built environment. We look forward to working with him as we continue progressing our goals.”

Boyd says he is honoured to take on the role and recognises the importance of the GBCA’s mission.

“It’s a privilege to serve as chair of the Green Building Council of Australia and to continue the work of those who have come before me,” Boyd says. “As expectations across the sector evolve, there’s increasing understanding that concepts like circular design and environmental restoration are central to how we build.

“The task ahead is to build on the existing foundation and continue connecting strong performance with long-term outcomes.

“I’m looking forward to supporting GBCA’s efforts to make sustainability more achievable and relevant across the property industry.”
