Evans leaves ARC after nearly two decades

The Australian Refrigeration Council (ARC) has announced the departure of Chief Executive Officer Glenn Evans.

The ARC says Evans – whose tenure has spanned 17 years – has been instrumental in helping the organisation grow for nearly two decades.

ARC Chairman Greg Picker credits Evans for his significant role in building the organisation’s business strength and reputation.

“Over Glenn’s tenure the organisation has expanded from less than 12,000 licences in 2005 to almost 113,000 current licences in in 2025, with a sophisticated CRM system enabling hundreds of licences to be issued each day, including almost 40% instantly using the new automated renewal process,” Picker says.

“Glenn also drove major advances in education, compliance, and industry engagement, building the team to deliver over 9,000 field visits annually, helping to deliver major environmental outcomes aligned with Australia’s refrigerant stewardship commitments.”

Picker says the ARC board appreciates the dedication and impact of Glenn’s leadership.

“We thank Glenn for his nearly two decades of service,” he says. “His leadership has steered the organisation to be more capable, more professional, and better placed to meet the challenges and opportunities ahead.

“We are grateful for his contributions and wish him every success in the next stage of his career.”

Next steps

The ARC says its board will soon commence a recruitment process to appoint a new CEO. Former Chief Operating Officer Susie O’Neill has stepped into the role of acting CEO during the transition period.
