Ziehl-Abegg earns record revenue

Europe-based electric motor and fan manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg saw revenue growth of 9.5 per cent to AUD$1.6 billion (€955 million) in 2023.

Europe-based electric motor and fan manufacturer Ziehl-Abegg enjoyed its most successful year in company history in 2023, a year that saw revenue grow by 9.5 per cent to AUD$1.6 billion (€955 million).

The German company also implemented a new strategy and structural realignment.

“This is the best year in the company’s history,” says Ziehl-Abegg CEO Dr Marc Wucherer.

Ziehl-Abegg says highlights for the year were a new AUD$165.33 million (€100 million) plant in the US, initiation of new plant construction in Vietnam, and a new production facility launched in Poland. At its German base, the company invested considerably in an improved machinery park and automation technology.

To support future growth, the company has reorganised into four geographic areas: Central Europe, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA), Asia-Pacific (APAC), and the Americas.

“This adjustment reflects the regional and globalised customer world as well as the rapid growth of foreign markets,” the company says, adding that the move brings the firm closer to its customers.

As part of its ZA2030 strategy, the company is pursuing three strategic goals: carbon neutrality, sustainable products, and complete transparency about environmental impacts.

“We will make an even more positive contribution to people and the environment,” says Dr Wucherer. “The course for further growth is set, with a clear focus on innovation, sustainability, and global customer proximity.”
