To celebrate World Refrigeration Day (WRD) on June 26, AIRAH is sharing the keynote address from its Refrigeration 2022 Conference held earlier this year. The presentation, delivered by Dr Paul Bannister, L.AIRAH, looks at our climate change challenges and opportunities for refrigeration.
Best known as the primary author of NABERS and the leader of the team that developed the Section J energy-efficiency provisions for the 2019 version of the National Construction Code, Dr Bannister explores the role refrigeration will play in helping us reaching net zero. He notes that the cold chain sector on its own represents more than 4 per cent of Australia’s total emissions, and there is plenty of low-hanging fruit for reducing both direct and indirect emissions.
The presentation underlines the theme of WRD 2022: Cooling matters.
