IIAR to host psychrometrics webinar
The International Institute of All-Natural Refrigeration (IIAR) will host a webinar focusing on moisture in the air from 3–4.30am AEDT on Thursday, January 22.

The US-based webinar is titled “Psychrometrics: The Science of Moisture in Air”. According to the IIAR, it aims to equip HVAC&R professionals and engineers with a comprehensive understanding of psychrometrics and its application in moisture control.
Participants will explore essential psychrometric principles, learn to interpret psychrometric charts, and apply their knowledge to real-world scenarios.
The course will be presented Tom Peterson from Climate by Design International. The IIAR says it will enhance participants’ ability to make data-driven decisions for controlling humidity and maintaining optimal air conditions in various environments.
Learning objectives
The IIAR highlights five expected outcomes for webinar attendees:
- Explain fundamental psychrometric concepts, including dry bulb temperature, wet bulb temperature, relative humidity, and vapor pressure
- Use a psychrometric chart to identify and interpret air properties using any two parameters to derive the others
- Apply psychrometric principles to analyse and control air quality and moisture levels in practical scenarios
- Calculate moisture content, dewpoint, and vapor pressure to ensure effective humidity control
- Describe the energy dynamics of air moisture processes, including latent and sensible heat, and their significance in HVAC applications.
Register for the webinar
You can register for the webinar via the IIAR website. Registration is free for IIAR members and costs $50 for non-members.
