Panasonic launches hydronic heating solution in Australia
Panasonic has introduced a new hydronic heating solution to the Australian market, offering space heating, cooling, and hot water from a single outdoor unit.

Designed for both new builds and retrofits, the Air to Water Heat Pump system is intended to offer a compact and efficient alternative to traditional gas or oil boilers.
The unit operates without an indoor system, using only hydraulic piping, which simplifies installation. It is compatible with underfloor heating, radiators, and fan coil units.
“The Panasonic Air to Water Heat Pump has a high-quality reputation and a large installed base in the European residential market where this solution has been available for 15 years,” says Joe De Bella, Group Manager HVAC, Panasonic.
“In Australia, Panasonic is targeting markets such as Victoria, Tasmania and Canberra where temperatures are colder in winter.”

According to Panasonic, the system maintains effective performance in extreme outdoor temperatures, offering heating and cooling capabilities year-round as well as domestic hot water. Remote access via the Panasonic Smart Cloud app enables users to track energy usage and manage running costs.
The system is available in a range of models, including the J Series (9kW and 16kW) for compact applications and the T-CAP series (12kW and 16kW) for colder conditions. T-CAP models maintain heating capacity even when outdoor temperatures fall to -20°C.

The outdoor unit captures heat from the surrounding air, transferring it to water through a sealed refrigerant system using R32 refrigerant. It delivers a consistent water output temperature of 60°C, even in low temperatures, by operating under higher pressure within the refrigerant cycle.
The system’s all-in-one outdoor design eliminates the need for a separate hydrokit, reducing space requirements inside the home. A built-in magnet filter helps maintain consistent performance by filtering out metal dust particles.
The Panasonic Air to Water Heat Pump will be available in Australia starting August 2025.
