Emerson has launched its new Copeland 110cc variable speed scroll compressor solution, manufactured in China and available for global distribution. The new product is designed to save energy and provide environmentally friendly improvements for a broad range of commercial air conditioning applications including chillers, data centres and package air conditioners.
According to Emerson, the new Copeland 110cc variable speed scroll compressor solution reduces power consumption by up to 30 per cent compared to conventional fixed-speed technology. It is compatible with multiple refrigerants, including R32.
“Emerson has invested heavily in the Asia-Pacific region with the opening of the research and solutions centre in China’s Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, where our engineers strive to design efficient and reliable, environmentally friendly cooling systems,” says Abel Gnanakumar, Vice President of Air-Conditioning and Business Development, Asia, Middle East and Africa, Emerson.

Collaborating with our OEM customers, we engineered the new product with innovative designs, consisting of 15 technology patents, to deliver superior efficiency and reliability.”
Emerson says the new unit is designed to deliver outstanding part-load and full-peak-load performance, enabling OEMs to meet regulatory energy-efficiency standards. A tandem configuration of variable speed and fixed speed compressors provides OEMs with the flexibility to expand the range and balance efficiency and cost.
