Louvre expert Construction Specialties has developed an online CPD module that focuses on louvres.
The new CPD on-demand training module, created following repeated requests from industry, can be completed in under an hour, says Construction Specialties. According to the company, the module offers professionals a comprehensive introduction to the use, standards and specification requirements of performance louvres.
“From protecting vital infrastructure from the elements to enhancing equipment efficiency, louvres are an essential design inclusion for data centres, hospitals, sports arenas, and many more critical building projects,” says Construction Specialties General Manager Bill Maloukis, Affil.AIRAH.
“This CPD module explores the difference between conventional and performance louvres, providing the technical requirements for rain defence, aerodynamic coefficient [airflow] and critically, how to calculate the pressure drop from one side of a louvre to the other.
“The module also highlights the need for specified louvres to meet required standards.
“Unfortunately, there are lots of knock-off louvres available in the market,” Maloukis adds. “Selecting a certified product will ensure louvres meet three essential requirements: rain performance, aerodynamic effectiveness, and wind loading.”
Construction Specialties says its louvres are certified to both Australian and New Zealand Standards, and Air Movement and Control Association standards.
